Product description

Rain doesn't have to hurt visibility. KKE Rain Repellent Glass Treatment is the direct-apply hydrophobic coating that bonds to the windscreen and makes water bead up and roll off — instead of streaking across the glass and fighting the wipers. Apply once and the effect lasts weeks of regular driving.

How it works

KKE Rain Repellent builds a hydrophobic layer on the glass surface. The coating changes how water interacts with the windscreen — water tries to minimise contact with the hydrophobic surface, so droplets form rounded beads instead of spreading flat. The beads have less aerodynamic resistance, so even gentle wind (or driving speed) pushes them off the glass without needing the wipers.

Direct treatment vs. washer-fluid additive

KKE offers two rain-repellent products: this one (direct treatment) and KKE 5022 (washer-fluid additive). They work differently and complement each other.

  • Direct treatment (this product): Apply by hand to a clean windshield. Builds a stronger, longer-lasting hydrophobic layer. Lasts weeks to months between applications. Best for owners who want the maximum rain-repelling effect.
  • Washer-fluid additive (5022): Goes into the washer fluid reservoir. Every wash refreshes the coating automatically. Easier to maintain; effect builds up but isn't as strong per application.
  • Use together for the best result: Apply the direct treatment for the base layer, use the washer-fluid additive to maintain it between applications.

How to apply

  1. Clean the windshield first with KKE Glasso — the cleaner the glass, the stronger the bond. If the windshield still feels rough after washing, use KKE Plus Heavy Cut or KKE Plus 3 in 1 to remove the bonded contamination first. The glass should be super-smooth before the treatment is applied.
  2. Apply KKE Rain Repellent to the glass and gently massage it on using circular motions. Don't overdo it — applying too much actually removes the coating instead of building it.
  3. Allow it to dry — the coating bonds to the glass surface as the carrier evaporates.
  4. Wipe off the haze with a clean microfiber cloth.
  5. Avoid running the wipers across the freshly treated windshield for the first few hours to let the coating set.

What you'll notice

  • Rain beads up on the windshield instead of flowing flat across it.
  • Above ~50 km/h, water flies off without much help from the wipers.
  • Light drizzle is often visible enough without using the wipers at all.
  • Bug splatter and bird droppings wipe off much more easily afterwards.
  • Effect lasts weeks to months depending on driving conditions and washing frequency.
