DIY Procedure for Applying Ceramic Coating on your Car

Thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle: 

The first step in the ceramic coating process is to thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle. This is important to remove any dirt, grime, or other contaminants that could prevent the coating from adhering properly. It is important to use a high-quality car wash soap and a pH-neutral wheel cleaner to clean the wheels and tires. The vehicle should be dried using a microfiber towel or chamois to prevent water spots from forming.

Perform a paint correction process: 

Before applying the ceramic coating, a paint correction process is done to remove any swirl marks, scratches, or other imperfections in the paint. This process includes using a clay bar to remove embedded contaminants, polishing compounds to remove light scratches and swirl marks and a machine polisher to bring out the shine in the paint.

Apply the ceramic coating:

Once the paint correction process is complete, the ceramic coating is applied to the vehicle. The coating is typically applied in thin, even layers using a foam applicator or microfiber towel. The number of layers applied will depend on the specific product being used and the condition of the paint. The coating is then allowed to cure for a specified period of time, usually around 24 hours.

Buff the vehicle:

After the coating has cured, the vehicle is buffed to remove any excess coating and achieve a high-gloss finish. A high-speed buffer with a microfiber pad is used to buff the vehicle.

Perform a final inspection: 

The final step is to perform a final inspection of the vehicle to ensure that the coating has been applied correctly and that the vehicle looks its best. This includes inspecting the paint for any imperfections, checking for proper curing, and ensuring that the vehicle has a glossy finish.
